In my humble opinion, the most frustrating type of videogames are the ones, where when you die, you die, Gata. There's no backup, there's no save, you have to start everything from the beginning. One of these games is Don't starve, by the way, despite all my complaining it's a pretty nice game, you pick up plants, hunt animals and have to prepare food yourself, and try not to die, when literally everything is trying to kill you, as i said, pretty nice.
But, as we started talking about food, let's get deeper into the subject of ESC cuisine. The rules, to not die from starvation are, as following:
- Don't use plates, using plates generates dirty dishes. You don't want that!
- Open up for tastes, you didn't like before. Probably other people know how to use the ingredients better than you do, just saying.
- Spread the tasks. Let everyone cook, even if they claim they cannot, make them call their mamas, papas, grandmas, they can figure something out. You live in a commune, you want it or not, just accept this as a fact.
- If you crave bread in the evening, you will be disappointed. In volunteers apartments, there lives ghosts, that for fun hide the bread from them. Ours is called Krzysztof.
- But don't worry, chocolade and crisps are just as good, as bread if it comes to supper.
- Be grateful, even if you don't like the food your flatmates prepared, pretend that you did. You want them to say that your pierogi were awesome too, don't you?
Not to make the rules just empty words, here are few examples of things that happened in the Mushroom apartment. When one person gets sick, at least one more will get sick from him/her, because we eat from one pot. Well, this is not a perfect example to follow, so if you have a dishwasher, or just really love cleaning dishes, you can skip the first rule. The real miracle though happened when i started to like olive oil, before Romania, it was my public enemy #1 (i might be exagerrating a bit). In Romania, i accepted it even in polish-greek potato salad, unbelievable.
And the last thing worth mentioning, if you live with a lot of people and you all eat together, you have to cook like for an army, but remember, this army is probably willing to help you :)
